Gwinnett Association of Gifted Educator’s Outstanding Gifted Student at Hull Middle

Each year 8th grade gifted students have the opportunity to apply to be chosen as the Gwinnett Association of Gifted Educator’s Outstanding Gifted Student at Hull Middle. This award reflects, leadership inside and outside of the classroom, participation in extracurricular activities, involvement in the community, as well as exemplary academic achievement. Each application requires the student to include an essay summarizing how the gifted program has helped him or her. The application is attached.

The recipient chosen will attend a banquet and be recognized in the Spring:

An excerpt from the application essay of the 2006 Hull Middle School GAGE Outstanding Gifted Student:

“In the gifted program… students are asked not to stop where the textbook ends, but to explore outside boundaries and discover other information pertinent to the subject. No more is education the confined cages of calculators, books or rules, but free as a leaf in the wind. It encourages students to be the utmost of their ingenuity.”
